Most beautiful darling

It's a dreary day over on this side of the monitor.
Nothing brightens my day more than watching my little darling sing, splash and smile.

Quinn's 'Happy Song' aka "If You're Happy and You Know It"

Some fearless fun in the pool with Daddy

And a few relaxing laps of the pool.
She's been known to do several full length of the local pool too.

Happy weekend!

Quinn at 20 months

Let me start off by saying, this month you are SO MUCH FUN.

Talking:

New words...where to start!? You basically repeat everything we say and not only do you understand everything we are saying but you are now actively trying to participate in conversations. Like I said before, SO MUCH FUN.

The other night I asked you to put your hands up in the sky so I could pull your shirt off, and you said "Sky! Birds!" Although you regularly associate things, for some reason it meant something more this time. It might have been the way you enthusiastically said birds or the excitement in your eyes when you said it, but it just gave me goosebumps. It may seem like such a small thing, but you were so proud of yourself in that moment and it made my heart swell.

Sleeping:

You go to bed like a champ and usually stay asleep all night. Sometimes you wake up because you've rolled off your mattress but otherwise you sleep until we wake you in the morning. That's right, Daddy and I have to wake you up in the morning and what a struggle! All we have to do to put you to sleep is sit you in your bed, read a couple books, and ask for a kiss. I recently showed you how to do eskimo kisses and last night when I asked for my goodnight kiss you gave me an eskimo kiss instead. Yet another heart-swelling moment!

Eating:

You love broccoli, corn, muffins, berries, bananas and chicken.

I present to you the Five Stages of Corn Love:

 1) Get corn in mouth as fast as possible

2) Bite off as many kernels as possible

3) Throw your head back in awe

4) Deliriously repeat steps 1-3

5) Once done, reflect lovingly

In other eating-related news, you've gotten quite good at using a fork:

Favorite things:

You love the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

You love crafting and colouring

You love your plastic animals

You love taking things for walks in your baby stroller

You love the songs Bringing Home My Baby Bumblebee, Wheels on the Bus and Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Way Back Wednesday

Babies.
Good lord, everything about them is delicious.
Their tiny little bods, their teeny little fingers and ahhhhh the way they smell; its killer.

I recently visited some friends who just welcomed their precious little boy and let me tell you, I've got baby fever in a bad kinda way. Since I have no newborn baby or one 'on the way', I've managed to make do by reminiscing over pictures of my little lady when she was brand new. Won't you join me?

Two of my friends are expecting little boys in the next few months and I cannot wait to meet them, because of all the wonderful things in this world, there is nothin' sweeter than a tiny little babe.

(Thank you to my mom, aunt and sister for these pictures. I love seeing new pictures of my girl, especially when they bring me back to such a blissful time in my life.)

Lately

Before our regularly scheduled program of Quinn pictures and stories, I thought I'd share a few things I'm dreaming about lately.

1) I need to start doing more painting / crafting with Quinn. I love the idea of hanging up her masterpieces in our kitchen like this:

2) How cute is this for a nursery or kid's room?!

3) This could not be more true

4) Nor could this

In fun, but currently unattainable news, I decided on the colour scheme for our master bedroom...

 via

Yellow, blue and gray.
Caitlin Wilson fabrics, while beautiful, are just slightly out of this gal's price range at the moment...but there's always Christmas ?! (major hint dropping dear husband)

Speaking of bedroom, I also love this lamp:

For some reason, just writing " I also love this lamp" made me immediately think of Steve Carell in Anchorman...

Well, with all those dreams and funnies out of the way, back to reality.

Last weekend my pantry went from this:

To this:
I threw out an embarrasing amount of expired food.
Like half the pantry.
Yikes.

Let's see, what else did we do....

Oh, well Quinn learned to put on her own sunglasses (or as Daddy calls them, 'sunny gs')

We went to the library

And last, but certainly not least, we got some very good news.
Our doctor at the fertility clinic gave us the green light to try again for a baby!
What better way to celebrate than with a frozen yogurt sundae...

Happy days!
